Determination of the Percentage of Water in Hydrated Copper (II) Sulfate With Christiana

Measurements
Evaporating dish without sulfate - 41.29 Grams
Evaporating dish with Copper (II) Sulfate - 51.11 Grams
Watch Glass - 57.69 Grams
Lab Observations
Upon heating moisture quickly happens and forms on the top. As more time progress the water droplets get bigger and bigger until they totally evaporated. Slowly the blue starts to fade away. When water is dropped from the evaporating glass the blue color of the Copper (II) Sulfate comes back. But after a while the water was totally gone, and the solid left behind was white/green color.
CALCULATIONS
  1. The percentage of water lost by the original sample is 36%.
  2. The percentage error is .19 % error, if the accepted percentage is 36.08%
  3. X = 5
